Master Ray Gayle (VIII Dan)

Master Ray Gayle (VIII Dan)

Chair of P.U.M.A | 47 Years in Taekwon-Do | International Champion

Master Ray Gayle is an 8th-degree black belt with an impressive 47 years of experience in Taekwon-Do. He currently serves as the Chair of P.U.M.A (Professional Unification of Martial Arts) and is a respected figure across the UK’s martial arts community.

As a former international competitor, Master Gayle has earned British and European titles, along with the prestigious International Fighter of the Year award. Though now retired from competition, he remains deeply committed to sharing his experience and guiding the next generation of martial artists.

A proud moment in his career was being personally graded to 6th Dan by the late Founder of Taekwon-Do, Major General Choi Hong Hi, followed by his 7th Dan awarded by Master Choi Jung Hwa in 2005. He achieved his 8th Dan in 2011.

👉 Seminar Session: Master Gayle will be delivering a session on Sport Taekwon-Do, sharing proven drills and strategies from his competitive background to help you elevate your sparring game.

Mr. Gethin James (V Dan)

Mr. Gethin James (V Dan)

TCUK SENCO | Founder of West Coast Taekwondo

Mr. Gethin James is a 5th-degree black belt who has been training in Taekwon-Do since 1999. He proudly serves as the SENCO for Taekwondo Council UK, bringing together his passion for martial arts and inclusive education.

Over his competitive career, Gethin represented Wales for 8 years, earning 5 World Championship bronze medals and 2 silver medals on the international stage. Academically, he holds a degree in Sports Studies and a Master’s in Education, specializing in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As the founder and head coach of West Coast Taekwondo in South Wales, Gethin is also dedicated to supporting coaches in working effectively with neurodiverse students and those with social or emotional challenges.

👉 Seminar Session: Gethin’s session will focus on sparring tactics—helping you fight smarter, not harder, and gain a competitive edge in your next match.

Master Andy Mole (VI Dan)

Master Andy Mole (VI Dan)

25+ Years Teaching Experience | Martial Arts Innovator

Master Andy Mole is a 6th-degree black belt (soon to be 7th Dan) who began his Taekwon-Do journey in 1991, after initially studying Wado Ryu Karate. With over 25 years of professional teaching experience, he has trained with world-renowned masters both across the UK and internationally, including in South Korea.

Passionate about all aspects of Taekwon-Do, Master Mole has spent over a decade studying privately under Jujutsu master Kevin Ohagen, deepening his understanding of the combat and self-defence elements of martial arts.

👉 Seminar Session: Master Mole will be sharing a selection of sparring and self-defence pad drills, using the ever-versatile pizza pads. These drills blend practicality with creativity and are ideal for instructors and students alike looking to sharpen their combat skills.

Master Russ Martin (VII Dan)

Acting Vice Chair of TCUK | Founder of Revolution TKD | Applied TKD Specialist

Master Russ Martin is a 7th-degree black belt who began his Taekwon-Do journey in 1985 with the TAGB and opened his first club just four years later in 1989. In addition to his deep roots in Taekwon-Do, he also brings valuable experience from training in Karate, giving him a broad and well-rounded perspective on martial arts.

As the founder of Revolution TKD and the Acting Vice Chair of Taekwondo Council UK, Master Martin is known for his focus on applied Taekwon-Do—emphasizing realistic self-defence and the practical application of traditional techniques.

👉 Seminar Session: Master Martin will be teaching a two-person self-defence drill, packed with techniques and concepts that can be immediately applied in real-life situations.

Master Tim Watkins (VIII Dan)

Master Tim Watkins (VIII Dan)

Veteran Instructor | Graded by Grandmasters Kong Young Il & Jamie Moore | 35+ Years in Taekwon-Do

Master Tim Watkins is an 8th-degree black belt with a Taekwon-Do journey spanning over 35 years. He began training in the mid-to-late 1980s under Grandmaster Brian Towndrow (TAGB), whose mentorship laid the foundation for a lifelong dedication to martial arts.

Over the decades, Master Watkins has trained independently and collaborated with a wide range of groups across the Taekwon-Do community. His broad and inclusive experience has shaped a deep, well-rounded understanding of the art. In 2022, he was proudly awarded his 8th Dan by Grandmaster Kong Young Il and Grandmaster Jamie Moore, a testament to his ongoing commitment to both tradition and growth.

👉 Seminar Session: Master Watkins will be leading a dynamic session on sparring drills. Attendees are encouraged to bring focus pads, gloves, and foot pads to get the most out of this hands-on training experience.

Master Paul O’Leary (VII Dan TKD)

Master Paul O’Leary (VII Dan TKD)

Irish ITC Representative | Founding Member | Practical Applications Specialist

Master Paul O’Leary has been involved in martial arts since 1985, with continuous training in Taekwon-Do since 1992. He is widely recognised for his thought-provoking article series, “What’s The Point?” and “Reality Bytes”, which delve into alternative interpretations of patterns, kyusho jitsu, and realistic self-defence.

He holds a 7th Dan in Taekwon-Do, alongside 3rd Dans in AoDenKou Jitsu and Karate, giving him a practical, multi-disciplinary approach to martial arts.

As the Irish Representative for the International Taekwondo Council (ITC) and a founding member, Master O’Leary continues to promote effective and inclusive martial arts training from his base in Cork, Ireland.

👉 Seminar Session: Master O’Leary will focus on knife self-defence, sharing practical concepts and techniques rooted in real-world scenarios and cross-training experience.

This seminar proudly supports the All Stars Inclusive Squad – a martial arts programme dedicated to creating opportunities for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The squad promotes confidence, fitness, and inclusion through Taekwon-Do, welcoming participants of all abilities. About the Venue – Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre

Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre, located in South Gloucestershire, underwent a significant £3.6 million redevelopment to enhance its facilities. The centre boasts a spacious main hall with four badminton courts, making it an ideal venue for martial arts seminars. Additional amenities include a fully equipped gym, multiple fitness studios, swimming pools, and accessible changing facilities, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees.​

For family or friends not participating in the seminar, the leisure centre offers a café area, swimming facilities, and a modern gym to enjoy during the event. Alternatively, the nearby Willow Brook shopping centre is just a short walk away, with a selection of shops, coffee spots, and places to relax while you wait.​

Ample free parking is available on-site, including dedicated spaces for disabled badge holders. For those preferring to plan ahead, additional parking options can be reserved nearby through services like JustPark.
