Risk Assesments
The Taekwondo Council UK is committed to providing a safe and controlled environment for all participants, including students, instructors, officials, and spectators. This risk assessment identifies potential hazards associated with Taekwondo training, competitions, and related activities, and outlines the measures in place to minimise risk and prevent injury. It is designed to support best practice, promote awareness, and ensure that all activities are conducted in accordance with health and safety requirements.

Best Practices and Training
Best practice in risk assessment involves identifying potential hazards, assessing the level of risk, and putting appropriate control measures in place to reduce the likelihood of harm. Risk assessments should be completed by competent individuals, shared with those affected, and reviewed regularly or when changes occur. Following best practice helps ensure activities are carried out safely, supports consistency, and demonstrates a commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards.
Individuals responsible for completing or overseeing risk assessments should have appropriate training and knowledge relevant to the activities being assessed. Recommended training includes basic health and safety awareness, risk assessment training, and an understanding of accident reporting and emergency procedures. Where activities involve physical sport, additional training in safeguarding, first aid, and activity-specific safety guidance is strongly advised.
