The Taekwondo Council UK is committed to promoting gender equality and creating an inclusive environment for all practitioners, regardless of gender, in all aspects of martial arts.
Our Commitment
The Taekwondo Council UK (TCUK) recognizes that martial arts should be accessible to everyone, regardless of gender. We are committed to creating an environment where all practitioners, instructors, and leaders can thrive equally. We believe that diversity strengthens our community and enriches the martial arts experience for all members.
Internal Practices and Governance

✓We ensure equal representation in our Executive Board and decision-making bodies, actively encouraging participation from practitioners of all genders in leadership roles.

✓We provide equal opportunities for training, advancement, and recognition, ensuring that grading criteria and promotion pathways are applied fairly and transparently regardless of gender.
External Activities and Events

✓We organize and support tournaments, seminars, and events that are inclusive and provide equal opportunities for participation and success across all gender categories.

I joined the ITC originally in 2019 and have had the pleasure of watching it grow into what is now the TCUK. I have had nothing but support and encouragement. At a time where I was learning how to be a completely new and independent association, TCUK offered me a massive life line, especially for policies and ensuring I had all the paperwork necessary in place. They are easy to contact and talk to about any issues or problems and always go the extra mile.
I am very proud to say I am a member of the TCUK and recognise them as our NGB.
