Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all our members through comprehensive background checks and safeguarding measures.
At Taekwondo Council UK, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is an essential requirement for all registered instructors, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
This background check provides crucial information about an individual's criminal record, helping us create a secure and trusted environment for students of all ages, especially children and vulnerable individuals.
With a mandatory 3-year renewal policy, we are committed to upholding the most current safeguarding practices, fostering confidence and peace of mind for our members and their families.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is a background check that provides information about an individual's criminal record and any relevant safeguarding concerns. It is an essential measure for ensuring that those working with children or vulnerable individuals are suitable and trustworthy. DBS checks play a crucial role in creating safe environments by identifying potential risks and enabling organisations to make informed decisions about who they work with. At Taekwondo Council UK, we require all instructors to hold a valid DBS check as part of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism in martial arts.
I joined the ITC originally in 2019 and have had the pleasure of watching it grow into what is now the TCUK. I have had nothing but support and encouragement. At a time where I was learning how to be a completely new and independent association, TCUK offered me a massive life line, especially for policies and ensuring I had all the paperwork necessary in place. They are easy to contact and talk to about any issues or problems and always go the extra mile.
I am very proud to say I am a member of the TCUK and recognise them as our NGB.
